One to the Other Ministries stated operation in the fall of 1986 with an inaugural trip to the city of Acapulco in the country of Mexico. It was in this resort city, known for its beautiful beaches, vistas and people that OTTOM brought in a group of doctors and nurses, preachers and teachers to the areas seldom seen by tourist for a 10 day outreach.

This trip birth a desire to continue taking teams to other nations in the heart of director and founder, Dr. Wayne S. Smith and several other leaders. Finding time to go, give and love people just like Jesus commanded us to do, was not an easy task for Dr. Smith. At the time, Dean of the School of Theology (Undergrad) at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK, Dr. Smith's burning desire to fulfill the Great Commission propelled him to form more teams that would carry the love of God to this hurting world.

One to the Other Ministries focused on medical missions merging medicine and prayer with great success for many years. The year was 1993 when for the first time, OTTOM sent two teams in one to the country of Paraguay for what would be a landmark trip combining the already successful strategy of medical clinics and the very anointed and powerful tool of evangelism via the arts. This trip had a harvest of over 2,600 people making decisions for Christ in just 16 days!

This combination of medical teams and evangelistic teams has proven to be the perfect strategy for this ministry and thus is still being used today.

Through the years, OTTOM has taken teams of all sizes to over 50 nations in almost all corners of the world.

In 2002, Dr. Smith entrusted the leadership of the ministry to long-time member and leader Victor Cruz and the board of directors unanimously voted him in as the new president of One to the Other Ministries in the Fall of 2002.

Since then, Victor and his wife Laurie (and family) has continued the great tradition Dr. Smith established. Victor and a Jesus-centered board of directors, and advisors are in constant planning for what God-has-for-us next! They continue the daily task of touching lives...impacting communities....with HIS love!
